You’re never too old and it’s never too late!

Happy New Year everyone!

All the staff at SPP hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Year break and are ready to start off 2015 with a bang. No matter if you’re a new year’s resolution person or not, we hope that you are keeping healthy and have set some goals to work towards in the new year.

I had a patient come into the clinic the other day with a lower back complaint and, as a preventative activity, I recommended pilates for spinal strength and mobility. The patient, in her early 80s replied with “I’m too old to start that now”. Pilates would be more than optimal due to the low impact nature of the activity. I told her it’s never too late!

I have been up on a mine site this week in the Pilbara, recommending strategies for injury prevention. Hearing excuses like “I’m too inflexible to do yoga” or “I’m too tired to walk” really makes me cringe.

Everyone has to start somewhere, you’re never too old and it’s never too late! Stop making excuses and start small today! Check out the article from Dawn Fraser below.
